Data Robotics, Inc., a provider of automated data storage products and more, reportedly
announcedthe launch of a new online Drobo store into Europe.
Already successful in United States and Canada, the online Drobo Store enables business and consumer customers to purchase the company’s
DroboPro,
Drobo and
DroboShare storage solutions.
The online Drobo Store is now available to more than a dozen European countries as well at
www.drobostore.com/eu, said officials with Data Robotics in a press release.
All orders taken through the new online store will be fulfilled by Digital River (

Alert), an European online reseller, for Data Robotics, said officials.
According to Data Robotics, its Drobo storage arrays provide protection of traditional RAID (redundant array of inexpensive disks) without the complexity. In general, RAID is a method of spreading information across several disks, using techniques such as disk striping and disk mirroring, in order to achieve redundancy, lower latency and/or higher bandwidth (for reading and writing), as well as recoverability from hard-disk crashes.
Data Robotics’ revolutionary BeyondRAID technology provides unique combination of advanced features as well as automation, such as single and dual disk redundancy, instant expansion, self-monitoring, data awareness, self-healing, and an easy-to-understand visual status and alert panel. All these features helps users in making a decision to which RAID level to deploy, says company.
Drobo is a four-drive storage array, while DroboPro is an 8-drive, vertical-slot storage array that can sit on the desktop or can be placed in a 19” rack using the optional rack mount kit.
Both these products provide small and medium businesses, creative professionals, as well as consumers with a simplified storage experience plus self-monitoring and self-healing features that ensure the highest levels of data protection.
Additionally, both Drobo and DroboPro support 3.5” (commonly called “desktop” size) SATA II and I drives. IDE, PATA or SSD drives are not supported by the device, says Data Robotics.
The DroboShare turns the four-drive Drobo into a network attached storage appliance.
Mike Collins, EMEA channel director at Data Robotics, said in a press release: “We’ve sold more than 85,000 units worldwide already, and demand for the Data Robotics product portfolio continues to grow rapidly in Europe. Launching a dedicated online store was the quickest and most efficient way for European customers who don’t have their own local reseller to get access to the products they need.”
