CASTEC of Taiwan has
stated that it will use Adept’s Quattro s650H robot – which features integrated vision guidance and inspection -- in its upcoming demonstration of high-speed solar cell handling system.
Adept Technology, a provider of intelligent robotics systems and services, told reporters its Quattro s650H robot will be on showcase at the Taiwan International Photovoltaic Forum & Exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan.
Rush LaSelle, director of global sales and marketing, said that this event is the largest PV show in Taiwan this year and is an ideal forum for attendees to see and experience firsthand the latest fully-integrated solutions engineered and manufactured locally in Taiwan.
CASTEC said its turnkey automation solutions, incorporating Adept's innovative robotics and high performance controls products, are designed to increase throughput, minimize breakage, and reduce scrap, goals any solar manufacturer will need to be competitive in this fast growing industry.
Adept said its Quattro s650H parallel robot is specifically designed for high-speed manufacturing, packaging, material handling and assembly. The Adept Quattro robot is the only parallel robot (or ‘delta robot’) in the world that features a unique four-arm rotational platform designed for maximum speed, maximum acceleration and exceptional performance across the entire work envelope. And also powerful embedded amplifiers and compact controls in the Adept Quattro parallel robot make installation easy and enable saved workspace.
Adept had partnered with CASTEC to develop and integrate a vision-guided solar wafer unloading process for a major solar wafer manufacturer in Taiwan. The company brought together its high-speed and precise robot, controls and software products with CASTEC’s expertise to supposedly help solar and other manufacturers in Asia to see better yields, higher plant throughput, better measurability in performance, quicker integration and minimal cell breakage all while reducing costs.
The demo will feature the Adept Quattro robot and the AdeptSight vision system. AdeptSight is a vision guidance and inspection package that can be used via a PC and can be used to develop customized vision guidance and inspection applications.
CASTEC has expressed its excitement at this project which will only help confirm their engineering capabilities and Adept’s automation solution tools efficiency.
Adept Technology was recently
chosen as LasX's robotics partner and the company had
inaugurated a robotics center in an Indian engineering college.
