Robotics -Adept Technology Chosen as LasX's Robotics Partner

In its new role as LasX Industries’ robotics partner, Adept Technology will provide robots and programming software for the company’s LaserSharp Spider STP-400 laser cutting system.

Adept Technology provides intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services. The LaserSharp Spider STP-400 system reportedly will feature the Adept Quattro robot and Adept ACE PackXpert programming software.

LasX Industries’ LaserSharp Spider STP-400 is a fully automated conveyor laser system that offers high-quality laser cutting of complex, personalized and variable nested shapes matching digital printing speeds. The system uses the Adept Quattro robot to stack and sort product and uses the Adept ACE PackXpert software to program the automation components.

LasX Industries provides laser-converting technology for the commercial printing, label and packaging markets. According to William Dinauer, president of LasX Industries, customers are very demanding when purchasing solutions. They need offerings that increase their workflow flexibility and production, while decreasing scrap and cycle times.

Dinauer said they will be able to meet these demands by leveraging Adept Quattro robot and ACE PackXpert software. These solutions allow them to offer their customers a fully automated laser cutting system that addresses all these requirements.

John Dulchinos, chief executive officer and president of Adept Technology, emphasized the importance of automation for manufacturers who want to preserve resources, improve processes and maximize production efficiency.

“Our automation expertise coupled with LasX’s laser converting technology experience will give this industry’s leading manufacturers the advantages that automation already offers to many other industries.”

Adept Technology claims its Adept Quattro robot is the only parallel robot in the world that features a four-arm rotational platform. This unique feature ensures maximum speed, maximum acceleration and world class performance across the entire work envelope.

The all-in-one ACE PackXpert software solution is designed specifically for packaging applications. Because the solution is completely flexible, it enables manufacturers to respond quickly to part changes without lengthy reprogramming. The solution features an easy-to-use intuitive graphic interface and 3D workspace display for visualizing the system operation including physical and conceptual objects.
