Robotics -Adept Technology to Inaugurate Robotics Center in an Indian Engineering College


Adept Technology has said that it is going to inaugurate a Robotics Center at the PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, India.
 
The inaugural ceremony will take place on August 5 and 6 at the National Seminar on Robotics and Intelligent Automation in Manufacturing and Services event hosted by PSG. The seminar will focus on the application of automation and robotic technologies in lean and flexible manufacturing, inspection, repairs in hazardous environments, warehousing, food and consumer products manufacturing, medicine, etc.
 
Adept Technology provides intelligent robotics systems and services that enable customers to achieve precision, speed, quality and productivity in their assembly, handling, packaging, testing and other automated processes. PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, India was established in 1951 and deals in the field of technical, engineering and sciences education in India.
 
According to Adept, its technical Robotics Center in the region will help perform customer demonstrations and feasibility studies and facilitate implementation of flexible automation programs.
 
The company has stated that it is excited to collaborate with PSG College of Technology and to participate in their robotics and automation seminar. PSG College of Technology has consistently been ranked among the best engineering schools in India and Adept hopes that their close industry collaboration will bring more benefits to the students, faculty as well as industrial colleagues.
 
Adept had dealt with the powerful industrial automation products for manufacturing, packaging, material handling and factory automation and designed products and technologies that bring flexibility into the automation industry.
 
Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, director of PSG Institute of Advanced Studies has stated that PSG’ industrial partners brought to the institution’s attention about Adept’s strong global reputation for engineering and manufacturing innovative and practical robotics and automation products. They are pleased to bring Adept’s technology and products into their institute to promote the advancement of higher education in robotics and automation in India.
 
The Adept Robotics Centre at PSG will be launched with an Adept Cobra s600 SCARA robot with integrated vision-guidance for high-speed handling or precision assembly applications. The Adept Quattro s650 parallel robot will also be integrated with Adept ACE, a new powerful, highly-integrated, point-and-click software, which provides an application development environment for Adept's entire portfolio of robots and controls, and state-of-the-art vision-guidance technology.
 
Adept had expanded into India by signing a local partner and had recently received $2.5 million order for vision-guided robots.
